Welcome to the new online home of the Distribution Maps of Plant Diseases

CAB International, together with our partner, the European and Mediterranean Plant Protection Organization, have been publishing the Maps for over 60 years. From their conception, recognising the need for accurate data on the distribution of plant diseases and pests of economic or quarantine importance, the Distribution Maps have been the authoritative source for this vitally important global geographic information. We have now published over 1000 Disease Maps and they can be browsed, searched and used via this site.

To browse maps please use the 'Maps' tab above; to search for maps you can either use 'Site Search' or 'Search Database' to the left. Please note: to view the map pdf whilst using the 'Search Database' function, please click on the 'CAB Full Text' button at the top of the result page.

To celebrate the publication of Map number 1000, Oidium neolycopersici L. Kiss, in April 2007 we have made every 100th Disease Map and Pest Map open access - just go to www.cabi.org/free_maps to view them in pdf format.

Online Functionality:

• Browse by date (for easy access to the most recently published material)
• Browse by Geographical area (each map is classified online according to the location(s) of the species in question)
• We have abstracted each map so that users can search the entire collection using a special subset of our CAB Abstracts database (powered via our powerful CAB Direct platform)
• Users can take full advantage of the indexing features that result from integrating the maps into our flagship bibliographic database
• If you are a subscriber to CAB Abstracts then your users will also be able to access the maps via the full-text linkage built into the database
